Service Center
California State Automobile Association
Stockton, California
The 30,000 square-foot, two-story CSAA Service Center was designed to house a range of member service and emergency road service operations that had previously been dispersed across Northern California. Construction of the facility required planning of common site access for users of adjacent properties and extensive reconstruction of an abandoned levee system to create a buildable parcel.
The Service Center features a dramatic entry rotunda and signature colonnade. The physical plant incorporates a closed-plenum air system to circulate air beneath the first and second floors, providing the tenant/owner maximum flexibility in space configuration while maintaining optimum comfort for building occupants.
This project earned an Award for Excellence in Design from the American Institute of Architects and an Award of Excellence from the City of Stockton.
