The Scotto Family, a long time regional wine maker, chose to bring their wine and cider products to the public in an upscale downtown Lodi gathering location. The site, a neglected structure on Lodi’s popular School Street, was restored. The existing brick walls were exposed within the interior space. The street façade was re-purposed to include a new canopy and signage, and a fully expanding glass “lanai” wall, fully inviting the passerby to participate the sounds of the interior action. The family’s desire to create not only a venue for their generational wines and cider, but also an active gathering spot in Lodi’s resurgent downtown, has been a huge success.
